Routes and Ability Levels
Whether you are new to backcountry skiing and want to learn how to use the equipment while experiencing untouched powder, or an experienced backcountry rider looking for steep, deep terrain, we will place you with a group suited to your ability. If you are looking for a full day on bigger terrain, please ask about our private guiding service.
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Preparation Meeting
• Organize and check the day’s equipment
• Discuss snow conditions and the planned route with your guide
• Introduction to and explanation of safety equipment
• Complete the climber registration card
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Lift Access
• Take the lifts to the day’s backcountry entry point and complete a basic beacon check
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: First Hike
• A short hike to the first powder zone of the day
10:30 AM – 10:45 AM: First Run
• Get ready to smile and enjoy the powder that “Snowzawa” is famous for
10:45 AM – 11:15 AM: Second Hike
• A short hike and lift ride will return you to the top of the backcountry area
11:15 AM – 11:45 AM: Second Run
• Another untouched powder field awaits your tracks
11:45 AM – 1:00 PM: Hiking and Lunch
• Another short hike and lift ride, followed by lunch to prepare for the afternoon
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: More Powder
• Enjoy more powder after lunch. Your guide will select the best route for your group based on the conditions

Important Information
– Group tours require a minimum of two participants. The minimum age is 15. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, and participants under 20 require a guardian’s signature.
– Participants must have a basic level of fitness and suitable skiing or snowboarding ability. Please refer to our ability-level guide.
What to Bring:
– Ski or snowboard equipment, boots, ski clothing, gloves, helmet, goggles, ski poles with large powder baskets, and either snowshoes with poles or climbing skins for a splitboard or touring skis.
– Lunch, snacks and water.
Not Included:
– Ski or snowboard equipment.
– Lift passes are not included in the guiding fee and should be purchased on the day following your guide’s advice.
